Do you require a retainer / Deposit?
Yes. I require a $50.00 retainer fee. The retainer fee guarantees your date. The retainer fee is “refundable” within 72 hours of signing the contract. I allow you 72 hours so that you can discuss your meeting that you had with me with you partner without my presence. I am human and I myself do not like to be pressured into purchasing something if I feel uncomfortable or do not have any time to think about it. I will accept cash or check for the retainer. If you decide to cancel your contract with me, I will simply shred the check that you have written or if you prefer, we will arrange pick up or drop off of the check or cash that was received. All that I ask is that you kindly give me feedback as to why you canceled (feedback is not required, just appreciated).
How does this all work?
Ok, this is how I like to do things. First we will arrange a date and time to meet in person. I prefer meeting at a coffee shop or some place similar. Once we have found each other at the place we have decided on, I will start to discuss with you what I have to offer you. At this time we will discuss the types of music you like, and the types of guests that will be attending your event. I will go over your timeline with you, and discuss my arrival and departure times and how the set up and break down times work in your favor. I will supply you with forms to assist you in listing songs that you would like played for your special dances, i.e. first dance, cake cutting etc. We will go over the contract (which is available on this site for you to view at any time). We will also discuss the timeline of your event. When does the ceremony start/end? When will you be serving dinner to your guests? I also request names of your photographer and wedding planner if you have hired one. Usually maid/matron of honor or a close family member may act as your wedding organizer making sure everything is flowing nice. I like to work with them so that I am on track as to what is going on. At the end of our meeting, you will be so happy with me and hire me! Well hopefully. The contract will be signed and a $50.00 retainer fee required to hold your date. After you hire me, you will leave with the contract and other helpful forms. We will contact each other via telephone and email for any updates prior to your event. I need to make sure that I get the completed forms back from you that have the important music requests and the list of names I may need for announcements. I will call or email you the day prior to your event to assure you that I will be there at the specified time so you are not stressing about the DJ not showing up.
What music genres are in your collection?
50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, Acoustic, Big Band, Classic Rock, Classical, Country, Dance, Folk, Funk, Hip Hop, Jazz, Motown, Oldies, Pop, Punk Rock, R&B, Rock, Soul, Strings, Swing.
Is there a limit to the amount of music that can be requested?
No limit! I love requests! I can provide booklets that can be viewed by your guest to give them some ideas.
Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events?
Yes. This is only displayed at fundraising events or other non-profit events. You will never see this type of display during your private event. This is your day, lets keep the attention completely focused on where it should be. If anyone needs a DJ or wants a business card, they can come up and ask. I will hand them the business card when appropriate without any sales pitch and let my performance speak for itself.
Will you be the DJ that we will be meeting with and that will be performing at our event?
Absolutely! I wouldn’t have it any other way!
How much time do you need to set up and break down your equipment and is this time part of the package time?
I need approximately 1 hour to set up and approximately 1 hour to break down my equipment. I can do it in less time but I am not shooting for any records. This time does not count as part of package time. If you need me to perform from 6pm-10pm, i will arrive at 5pm and leave between 10:30-1100pm. Good?
Do you have insurance?
Yes. On rare occasions, some venues will request that you hire entertainers that carry liability insurance to cover any damages they may cause to their property or to your guests. (Plus its good for me to have!)
Do you have song list or other useful forms available?
Yes. On this site, under the “Tools” tab you will find several song lists and different forms you may find helpful when planning your event. You will also find a copy of my contract than you can review at anytime.
What area’s do you perform in?
Most of Puget Sound area. Tacoma, Federal Way, Spanaway, Graham, Olympia, Kent, Orting, Sumner, Lakewood etc.
Do you have wireless mics?
Yes. They are provided with each package at every venue.
